Regarding the save_text

Hello Experts,

I'm facing a problem to save the text in 'MD04'.

I've all the values to pass it to header except the Languge.

I couldn't able to get it.

Could any one help in resolving this?

Try doing this in Transaction MM02.

Thanks for Quick reply!!

Its not working with sy-langu, cause the material text in MD04 is maintained in 'ES'. so if Logon in EN and try to save the text its not updating.

Try Passing value tdspras in thead with 'E'.

This tdspras has conversion routine ISOLA. Check this one also.

I think passing value 'S' will work.

Hi Krishna,

My Question is, to pass the input value to Conversion Routine i want to know in which language (TDSPRAS) the text is maintained in MD04

for ex: Material '1' has 'DE' in MD04 (in Text icon)

'2' has 'ES' in MD04 (in Text icon)

'3' has 'EN' in MD04 (in Text icon)

how do i get dynamically these values?

Find language from 'READ_TEXT' first and then pass this language to 'SAVE_TEXT'.

Every Material text will contain one TdOBJECT name. (U can get from texts---Goto->Header).

Try to get it from Table STXH.

Hi Krishna,

I have checked that, and passing the required values (objectname, object id, etc...) to FM. But when i compare the TDSPRAS in MD04 and DB table STXH it is different (TDSPRAS in MD04 is 'ES' where in STXH it is 'DE'). Thats the region the save_text is failing to save.

If u wnat to save in spanish pass 'S' else if u want to save it in german pass 'D' to Function module.

From Save_text u are creating a entry in STXH.

i want to save the text with logon languge, but when i pass sy-langu to TDSPRAS and trying to save the text, it was not saving cause the TDSPRAS in MD04 is ES (spanish).

is there any table or FM to get the value of TDSPRAS in MD04?

If MD04 u r refering is Object name,

try to pass sylangu to routine and get single character value and populate in function module.
