message length in a message class

hi all,

I have a error message to be displayed in report , its length exceeds 74 character.

What is the way to increase the default length?

or is there another way to display the error where length is greater

You can Write Like ths

MESSAGE E000(Z..) WITH text-001 text-002.

Hi Bhanu,

Create a new message with message short text as '& & & &' in your message class.

Then in u r report , where u want to display error message

MESSAGE eXXX(XXXX)

WITH text-004 text-006 text-005 text-007.

where text element contains u r error message.

create ur message with placeholders,

and pass string variables to these placeholders in ur program.

Open your message class

Select the message number you want

uncheck the self-explainatory box

select the 'Long Text' tab at the top and add your message.
