For Ftp Connection We need to create RFC Connection of type tcp/ip,during creation we come across

something called Program id can anyone please tell me what is this?

Hi,

It is used for identifiaction of registered RFC Server Program.

With an SAP gateway, an RFC server program can be registered under this ID and then wait for RFC calls from different SAP systems. Note the program you are giving here is not an ABAP Program

Thanks For reply but can u please tell in detail like how do we create this program , how do we assign a id, and i suppose that this server program calls client program in non-sap system can u please explain regarding this also?

Hi,

This program will not be created by us(ABAP Consultants). It is a server program from the 3rd party side which the BASIS has to register in the Gateway Server(SAP).
