Hi,

I have created some messages in a message class.I have created a function module in which i am calling

CALL FUNCTION 'FORMAT_MESSAGE'

EXPORTING

id = wa_log-msgid

lang = sy-langu

no = wa_log-msgno

IMPORTING

msg = msgtxt

EXCEPTIONS

not_found = 1

OTHERS = 2.

here in variable i am getting message text

and this message text i need to update in a table

my question

my message text is user id is '&'

where & i am passing from the input screen

Now what should i code in the prgm so that i get user id is 9 , where 9 i am passing from input

2nd question

i have created one table.Can anyone tell me how to create maintanance for it steb by step.

Also please tell me the advantage of maintanance

use table maintenance generator SM30

Go to SE11, give the table name and click on change. Then Go to utilities--> Table

maintenance generator.

In the table maintenance generator screen, we should give Authorization Group,

Function Group name (Function Group name can be same as table name),

Maintenance type can be one step or two step, usually we will create with one

step. we should give maintenance screen number. After clicking on create button,

a table maintenance generator will be created.

To check it go to SM30 . In SM30, we find display, Maintain options.

We can view the table contents by choosing Display and we can create table

entries by choosing Maintain.

hi , u can do the following easy method to display a message.

give the message class with MESSAGE-ID statement in the report and

give the message as follows

MESSAGE sy-uname 'is exist' type 'W'.

MESSAGE 'userid is' &variable&

table maintenanc generator :-

-> create a table then activate it

-> goto utilities tab on top and click on table maintenace generator

-> give authorization code , eg:- &NC& for w/o authorization grp

-> give function group wherein u want to store ar else gv the same name as of ur table it will create that

particular function group.

-> give package in which u want to save

-> mention which type of maintenence screen u require one step ar two step and no of single screen
