LSMW - Direct/Batch Input Method - Source File

Hi All,

I am new to LSMW and am using LSMW Direct/Batch Input method for uploading asset master data using t-code AS91.

Batch Input Program: RAALTD01

Direct Input Program: RAALTD11

I have the below queries:

- Which method to go in for among the two, depending on that some assets need to be moved to SAP using AS91.

- How should I prepare my source file, CSV or without any spaces, etc.? What all fields should it have? I tried putting some fields, but could not run it.

Can anybody please help me out with this. Also it will be great if someone can provide me with some sample source file.

I need this urgently.

Hi,

I had used the Standard Input program RAALTD01 as we had some 3000 assets to be uploaded in my project.This program creates Batch Input sessions which need to be processed in SM35. In case you have large amount of assets to be uploaded then go for RAALTD11 as it directly updated the tables without creating and Batch input sessions, thus increasing the performance.

In your input text file ( it should have data seperated by tabs preferably ), you need to input Asset class, Asset main number, description, the various depreciation areas with thier Capitalization start date, Depreciation start date, Useful life, cumm acquisition values and ordinary depreciation values.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

It would be really nice if you send me a sample file. You may just put in one sample record along with its heading here in the post so that I get an idea? I am getting a lot of error messages.

I have tried running the program from SE38 using the file and checking the output, but it resulted in errors.
