Recreate table maintenance generator

Hi,

I've created one Z table ,generated table maintenance also and moved to quality.But after that we changed the table structure by making few fieds as key fields.Will it be a problem if we dont recreate the table maintenance?

It will not the problem even though u change some fields,So no need to bother about the table maintinence generator.

hi,

watever changes u have done to table structure after generating table maintenance will not reflect ,

u have to regenerate table maintainence generator again .

Hi,

You have to recreate the TMG to apply the changes you have done.

TMG has to be recreated if there is a change in the structure and making fields Key is a big change .

It's a common probelm for me also.

See u donot have to create again Table Maintenace Generator.

Since u have changed few fields to key fields u have to do little changes.

se11->tablename->Utilities->Databaseobject->Database utility->Activate and adjust Database.

Hi,

you go to se14 and here you to ask object name so you type your table name and click EDIT button

so open another screen just click Active and Adjust Database button

hi,

Best way is to create a table maintenance generator one more time and then adjust it in the database.

In se11 itself u can do it ... create a table maintenance generator then check it in se54 then ... go to Utilities >> Database Object >> Database Utility >> AT the bottom of the page u will find Activate and Adjust database ... Click on it ... Hope ure problem will be resolved ...

Hello Poornima,

Yes you need to recreate the Table maintenance generator once again.

When you create the Table Maintenance internally in a Function Group a Include will be created and

If you write any validations for the fields in the table that you have created then it will store that code in that Include in Function group so when you make any changes you always have to check whether it is activated or not..

To check this go to SE37 and click on Go to on the top of the Toolbar, Click on Function groups, click on Display Function group and provide your Function group name there in that you can find whether it is activate or not.

Also you need to adjust the Database as specified above.

Hi,

Poornima,

when you made the changes in the structure of table, then you have to even modify table maintenance Generator

do the following:

go to table maintenance Generator -

> change ~~-> pop-up will come~~->

select the option (based on changes u made) --> for example if u added new fields to a table ---> check new feilds /sec table in structure ---> ok -

> if there is only over view scren check overview screen els both.

if u addedd key fields then select key fields els nornal fields and ok -

> save.

You have to re-generate the table maintenance, when new fields are added, system doesn't automatically insert them in it.

So go to MAINTENANCE TABLE GENERATOR for your table and press icon for updating.

Here choose NEW FIELD options and press ENTER.

Anyway I prefer to set somes parameters of EXPERT MODE as REFRESH OVERVIEW SCREEN.
