LSMW is a data migration tool offered by SAP. It is transaction code LSMW. You can create LSMW projects that upload all kinds of data. One standard routine is for Vendor uploading which uses the program that you mentioned. The LSMW workbench will handle the structure of your input from from PC, reading the data into files on the application server, converting them, creating the Batch Input session, and of course running it. Everything you need to upload vendors is right there. Please search this forum for LSMW. You should find some helpful links.

Regards,

Rich Heilman

What version of R/3 you are on? Before 47 versions LSMW was add on to the R/3 system. If your R/3 version is older than 47 then you have to add the LSMW. From 47 and up LSMW comes with R/3.

Don't know about LSMW, but to run the program, you'll have to upload the file from the presentation to an internal table (FM GUI_UPLOAD) and then transfer it to the APP server.

open dataset...
loop at itab.
 transfer itab to ...
endloop.

Rob
