Short Dump GEN_ILLEGAL_SWITCH_VALUE when compiling abap onject

I'm trying to compile an abap object and it keeps dumping with GEN_ILLEGAL_SWITCH_VALUE.

It's a standard SAP object that hasn't been modified, and it compiles on another system which has the same version etc.

The object is /SAPAPO/SAPLBOP_BUFFER.

The object syntax-checks correctly as one would expect.

Other text in the dump is:


Internal error during generation.                  
Generation ran in a state that normally must not be
reached. In a selection, the unknown value 8 was   
discovered.

Dump points to line 21 in /SAPAPO/LBOP_BUFFERFBK:

Other info:


The termination was triggered in function "cg_GetDataGenInfo"
of the SAP kernel, in line 6688 of the module                
 "//bas/710_REL/src/krn/gen/cgdatcr.c#13".                   
The internal operation just processed is " ".                
Internal mode was started at 20081110115544.                 
Unexpected value 8 in case distinction.

Just wondering if anyone has came across this type of error, can't find anything in OSS.

Problem solved.

I had recently updated the 700 kernel to 710. However kernel 710 isn't downward compatible with BASIS700.
