ztable updation

I had developed one ztable with following fields:

1. matnr

2. from date

3. to date

4. price

i had created zreport ( bdc program to upload legacy data ) to update the view using sm30.

now my reqirement is .

for each material the price will change once in 2 0r 3 months.

while uploading for the first time , for all material codes todate is by default 31.12.9999.

when there are changes in prices , i want to update with new date range.

for ex: material code : 10000 ( initially i will upload this.)

from date : 01.10.2008

date date : 31.12.9999.

price : 400.55Rs

if forthe same material , price is changed.

material code : 10000 (

from date : 01.11.2008

date date : 31.12.9999.

price : 450.55Rs

now in databae for 2 records for same material code should exists with different date ranges .

ex : 10000 01.10.2008 31.11.2008 400.55

10000 01.11.2008 31.12.9999 450.55

please give me any idea on this.

You can achevie this with events in table maintance in db table

is it not possible for you to put from and to dates as primary key fields?

if you put as primany key the it will work because the date differs from old date.

hi lisa.

while uploading time only , after appending the new record , the existed record todate i.e 31.12.9999 should be replaced by current record todate - 1 .( previous date ).

so that old and new records exists with different date range and different price.
