Upgrade to ECC 6.0 issue with CHECK statement in standard function module

Hi Gurus , I am working on an upgrade to ECC 6.0 from 4.6c . One custom program uses BAPI_SHIPMENT_CREATE and it always fails . I found that within the BAPI , there are calls to other function modules , one of them being V51P_FIND_HEADER and in this there is a check statement :

CHECK NOT is_vekp IS INITIAL. .This statement should fail in case the structure is_vekp is initial, however it never fails and the program moves on with out exiting. I have checked the structure and it is empty , how can I fix this.

if you are debugging correctly and seeign the issue, open a ticket with OSS, and let it checked by SAP Development

Hi,

Make sure if any of the field in the structure is_vekp is populated...

Do one thing. write a small program..declare the same structure as of IS_VEKP.

Don't populate anything...

And then add the check statement as in the sap program...

find out what's happening in the debugging..

Hi Naren , I tried exactly what you suggest , and the everything works on a test program , It is only when I call the Bapi even in my test program , this problem starts to happen.

Then one of the fields of the structure must be populated..

Checked in the debugging of both your sessions...test program and the bapi...

check what is different in the bapi to make the condition true...
