i want to give to steps as to how how we need to configure ale/idocs plz correct them if i am wrong.

FOR OUTBOUND

goto sale

1. define logical systems

2. assign client to logical systems

3. create rfc destination

4. port details

5. partner details -> message type

6. customer distribution model

7. generate partner profiles

8. distribute model

9. create a customer program to populate idoc

10. populate control records

11 call fm master idoc distribute

11. for change pointers

call fm change pointers read

i download abap trail version i created seperate clients for it using scc4. i created employee idoc type .i followed threads but i dont know why in every single i am stucking if you are open for discussion if you have time i will start again doing every and ask you

but first is it possible with abap trail version if not we have to start general discussion

What are the IDOCs you see in trial version?

they are not related to any of the modules which we have they are related to some authorizations and bapi related bank creations

thats why i created a user defined idoc consisting of ssn fname lname

i created client using scc4 but when i try to use it while defining logical system its saying its not in this landscape.

there is only one client 000 which is for training purpose but i created client 100 which is for demo

leave client for now.

Define a logical system

Define the Distrcibution model

create a PORT as tRFC

create an RFC destination in SM59, give soem dummy name there

see when you run your code if it createsthe IDOC atleast, once it creates we can look for the inbound portion

000 as sender where i created zemp as idoc

Define the Distrcibution model


i used bd64 but create model view is disabled here?

create a PORT as tRFC


port name as zemp


rfc destination as localhost

create an RFC destination in SM59, give soem dummy name there

how are you creating the IDOC? using MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE

your steps seem fine, Distribution Model is the thiong you should be looking at. Once you have that you would be able togenerate IDOC, even if it stays in error

In BD64, you have click on change button, only then create model wil be enabled.

i am creating data elements through se11 and then creating segments with tcode we31 and then idoc with we30

i tried hundreds of times tried to doing it but its never enabled

in addition to that its saying logical system not defined.

which i defined both logical systems 000 and 100 as a first step

then you may not be able to try it on trial version.

To create a model you must have atleast 2 clients ifnot two servers.

Have you got two clients!!

Can you clarify some things as i am thinking its not possible to carry out every thing here.

1. how we must build custom outbound program in steps

2. how we must build custom inbound program.

Normally we trigger IDOCs in transactions itself, there we use Process codes in the partner profiles, and those process codes are linked to a FM. You can check the interface of Inbound and Outbound FMs in any if the standard SAP modules. Look at IDOC_INPUT* or IDOC_OUTPUT*

for your case, as you dont have any transaction there, you need to write a program, in the program you would fill the different IDOC segments for your IDOC, and then call MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE to create an Outbound IDOC.

for Inbound you need to create a FM, assign a Process code to that, and enter that process code in the partner profile. Once the IDOC is created for inbound, it iwll use the process code to call that FM, and post the data

that is outbound proccess and inbound proccess right.
