how to create table records..

hi,

i have table having 6 fields,

first two are key fields.. i need to create table records with repeating

1st field , how can i create plz tell me , because its not accepting in se11, is their any altenative .

if the first 2 fields combined makes the key,

then it shud allow, same first field..

for eg, vbeln and posnr..

for same vbeln u can have different posnrs..

try with different value for second field..

let us now, exactly what error message it is giving..

try inserting thru a program...but it shud allow thru se11..

Hi,

You can create new records using SM30 transaction.

First check whether your table is maintaining table maintenance and then goto SM30~~>Maintain~~->create.

Hi,

It should allow, unless you keep the second key field blank in the first one and attempt to enter another record with the same first key and a blank second key again.

IN MY CASE TWO KEY FIELDS ARE NEED TO BE REPEATED ..

IS THEIR ANY PROCEDURE TO CREATE NEW RECORD...(FIRST TWO ARE KEY FIELDS)

may be in your table give those two fields as key fields and in SM30 while creating the entries you may see those two entries(iam not sure, try your luck!!)....or you can repeat same to the key fields and for the other you can set your new entries.

What do you mean by 2 key fields are to be repeated ?

that means u are trying to defeat the concept of database table itself..:)

what exactly is ur requirement ? if it is a custom table..

redesign the table structure, with one more key field added, say Serialno or some running numbers like that.

and make the 3 fields as key.

in that case, you can repeat the first and second fields..

Can you be more clear on what your requirement is ?

Lets put it in an example :

CASE 1 : Possible

Key1 Key2 Field1 Field2 Field3 Field4

1 1 XXX xxx xxxx xxx

1 2 XXX xxx xxxx xxx

CASE 2 : Impossible with 2 keys, you will need one more key.

Key1 Key2 Field1 Field2 Field3 Field4

1 1 XXX xxx xxxx xxx
