BDC upload in Background

I want to Update Data through BDC taking Data from Presentation server , and at the same time run the BDC Report in background . The BDC is also a Call Transaction and no sessions will be there .

Hope you fellows got my point

Yes we fellows got your point..

if you want to upload from the presentation server

use GUI_UPLOAD to transfer it into an internal table and then use.

CALL TANSACTION..

This is not possible as u want the process to run in background and load the file from presentation. When the job starts in background he connection to presentation server is no longer available and hence it will not be possible to load the data from presentation.

If u still want to do something like this then u will have to write a program which will be executed online. This program will load the file from the presentation server and write into database and then submit another program into background which would read this data nad process further. This is possible if it is one time or not being used by multiple user at the same time. This is in simplest form.

hi,

create a new recording in shdb.after it gets recorded, go to program.inside that, click on "pattern" and give GUI_UPLOAD.after completion, execute the program.then, choose "call transaction" method. it'l run in background.

I don't think this is possible.

U cannot Upload data from presentation server in

background.

U can run BDC's in background but not upload data from

Presentation server.

Hi Suddha,

Give the MODE as 'N' in the call transaction method which will run the BDC in the back ground.

CALL TRANSACTION <tcode> USING bdcdata

MODE 'N'....
