How to create a Directory on Application Server?

Hi all,

I need to test the application for moving data from one directory to another,for that i need to create a dir and some sample files in it on Application server,

so ,can any one help me by giving some sampl code/FM with proper examples?

Its on urgent basis...

Hi Got to AL11 transaction and click the configure button.

THen follow the GUI there to create the required directories.

THis will help u.

OPEN DATASET DS1 FOR OUTPUT.

if datset is no there ii will create file with the path

you have mentioned in DS1.

Hi Altaf,

If you have any file on presentation server just use CG3Y transaction and upload the data to application server,check that in AL11 transaction.

You can create an external command via SM69 which you can then invoke through function module SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE

For NT you'd need something like the following:

Operating system command

cmd

Parameters for operating system command

/c mkdir
$/SAPGLOBALHOST/\?

Either contact Basis guys at ur end for the same or u can do it dynamically via a piece of ABAP code, i hope it wll help u.

call function 'GUI_CREATE_DIRECTORY'
     exporting
dirname = '//<ip_address>/qfilesvr400/<host>/usr/sap/TST/SYS/Folder1'
     exceptions
          failed  = 1
          others  = 2.
