NetWeaver is the platform on which all the other products like XI (exchange infrastructure) and EP (enterprise portal) run.

Advantage for ABAPPERS....? What do you mean by this? In XI and EP there is no actual ABAP development done. For XI one can do some ABAP mappings and via WebDynpro for ABAP you can develop web applications which can be 'shown' in the portal environment. But there is no development involved in EP itself.

Better have a look at this link:

[SAP NetWeaver by Key Capability |http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/30/c4461ff69d5a438f1286e344b545fa/content.htm]

Well, I really wouldn't know anything about the market in the particular country you live in. So my suggestion would be to first find out, what is popular in your particular region now and the months, years to come.

Might be worth to start learning java, which might come in handy when you want to develop web applications for EP (web dynpro for java). Java is also used in XI and Composition environment. But like I said, first find out what to market is asking for right now and in the future.

However, I'm not going to give you any career advise, that's the job of other people.

Hi Jagdeesh,

XI is the best option for you. XI deals with ABAP components. But you should be prepared well advanced with Advanced concepts in ABAP like ALE/IDOCs, well in advance.

Having Java knowledge is a best option for Netweaver itself. Apart from that you should have good knowledge in BSP, JSP, Servlets, XML etc if you go with EP (Enterprise Portals).

Netweaver is an ocean, your choices in Netweaver are WebDynpro using ABAP and XI.

But be well prepared with ABAP thoroughly before jumping blindly into Netweaver. See the market conditions, because Netweaver is no where implemented completely in any company. Only few areas are addressed in each and every project. Take care of career my friend.

Regards,

Santosh Kumar M.
