how will you change give me some sample program

what is uses of binary search while using read statement

hi,

Change the

fieldcatalog-seltext_m = New Heading

of the field Catalog

The usage of BINARY SEARCH is it will reduce the Search time and hits.

just to confirm is it standard one? if no than from field cat you can change lke below:

wa_fieldcat-fieldname  = 'BUKRS'.
    wa_fieldcat-seltext_m  = 'Company Code'."it is the heading
    wa_fieldcat-just       = 'L'.
    wa_fieldcat-tabname    = 'IT_FINAL'.
    wa_fieldcat-outputlen  = 15.
    APPEND wa_fieldcat TO it_fieldcat.
    CLEAR wa_fieldcat.

what is uses of binary search while using read statement

for this you can take a SAP help by just press F1 on binary search.

hi rajseker c ,

if u r using reference field name and reference tab nam in ur report then u have to do this in ur code

wa_fieldcat-fieldname = 'BUKRS'.

wa_fieldcat-seltext_s = 'Company Code'

wa_fieldcat-just = 'L'.

wa_fieldcat-tabname = 'IT_FINAL'.

wa_fieldcat-outputlen = 15.

APPEND wa_fieldcat TO it_fieldcat.

CLEAR wa_fieldcat.

either u can simply use seltext_m only in case of when u r not using the reffieldname and reftabname

binary search will reduce your search time but before using the binary u will have to sort your table.
