function module to create customise filemame convention

Hi ALL,

I use FTP method to send XML file to different vendor at different location. SAP need to output the files in different folders and vendor will get the file themselves.

The challenge is how to generate filename as <SAP function module -time> <location> and put in different directory from same transaction ?

The solution i have is

1. change te standard function module and extract the "location" from table structure and append as flename.

2. another scrip run at FTP server and automatically move the file to different folder by cheking the filename.

Anyone encounter similar problem as me and have better suggestion ?

You can look for "EDI*" FM´s to find more about using ftp and xml.

maybe these FM´s can help you to create the filename(s).
