ALV Grid

Hi,

I have read about ALV grid . I have failed to understand terms like

1 Control

2.Wrapper Class.How its related to ALV control

In documentation its written that " ALV Grid Control is a special case as it uses a control that is already wrapped: the

grid control".

Can someone please clarify about the relation between Control and container and wrapper.

Hi ,

ALV grid by OOPS method ,you declare a container or pass a container name which in turns wraps ALV grid control ,it is like wrapper .

Container is like custom container of class cl_gui_custom_container

It is like a blank box and you can display ALV grid ,alv tree or both using spillter container ,which means container wraps ALV GRID control.

Hi,

Here control means custom control that you can create in SE51. Custom control ALV grid control, Tree control, picture control.

Container provides the technical connection between custom control and Screen.Custom contol is always embeb in Container control.

The ALV grid control uses grid control to display the table, so we can say that ALV grid control is a wrapper.This wrapper spares the developer from having to register the events on the frontend to simplify event handling.

i think its the other way round.

Custom control wraps custom container which in turn wraps application control.

Correct me if i'm wrong
