Create help button

Hi All,

I have to create a help button for a field(ztab-type) in a custom table. The field should show 3 values, video game, pc game, stuffed toy.

I entered the values for the domain in the value range. Activated it. But it did not show up in SE16, for the TYPE field. May be because I created the search help, but I did not attach it to the field. So went to SE11 and deleted the search help.

But still the values entered in the value range are not showing up.

I have two different transport requests one for search help and one for value range.

I have to show it to the user in the afternoon.

Can some one please help me with this.

Hi,

Go to transaction SE11, type a new domain name and click create.

Specify data type char, No char 20 or what ever,

go to tab Value Range and put the values in single vals.

Save and activated.

2) create an new data type with that domain.

3)Assign the data element to the field in the table, save and activate.

Hi,

My Value range has Fix val and Short text. I do not see Single value.

Please let me know where I should find this option. We have 4.6C.

Now with my previous value ranges changes only, if I go to Se16 and press F4 on the field I see Fix val and Short text. But the help button is not comming. I have to hit F4 everytime.

Can you please help me with why the button is not comming.

Hi,

You need to press F4 for viewing the available values for the field.

I dont understand what you mean by help button is not coming.

When the cursor is on the field and that field has any search help or value range attached, automatically you will see a drop down button on the right side of the field. You dont need any special help button for this process.
