finding the field

I am working on a report, i need to display the field task code status(smsttxt) and it is 40 char field which in transaciton QM03. This field i have to display based on Task Code , this is also in same transaction When i go into the technical settings this field refering the structure, so please let me know how to read this field.

I am not sure of the table. But you can get the Text using the Function module

STATUS_TEXT_EDIT

Go to Table QMEL , With the Notification number, Get the OBJNR from QMEL table.

use this OBJNR and call the Function STATUS_TEXT_EDIT, specify language as sy-langu.
