How to write the custom Function Module to trigger the Alert.

Hi all,

I have developed a custom alert category in Tx - alrtcatdef. Now i want to trigger it from my custom function module. what should i do or what is the procedure to trigger the alert from my custom function module.

thanks for ur reply. can u pls brief on the functionality of this program. when i run the program it is returning a ID . how do i know the place of the message. where the message goes and hits. I can't see it in the inbox of the sap user.

Hi,

I think the program will trigger the alert when it is run. but i want the alert to be triggered automatically.

I have created the alert for PO change. So when i change the PO it should trigger the alert.
