display default value in table control

ZTABLE fields

Downtime code / Text

1 / No Load

2 / M/C Breakdown

Suppose I press F4 for possible values for Downtime code.

The above 2 column screen shows the F4 help for down time code with thieir text.

Now if i select 2 for downtime code, then tha text(M/C BREAKDOWN) should appear in the next column(Ztable-SUP_TEXT) automatically.

these two fields are in table control.

Please help.

hi siddh,

i got what you want to say.

First create seaerch help in for your field. now use this search help for ur reqiured field using sereen painter.

In search help you are going to use two field

1) field1 : which is your F4 field.

2) field2: for which you want automatic data in that field.

now in ur search help there is option of import and export.....

made click on export parameter for both field.

and take same name in table control as it is in search help.

Hi vipul,

you almost got it right. Actually i'd already defined F4 HELP for downtime code field, when i press f4 on downtime field, i get Downtime code, Text, and AV/UV i.e AV=> avoidable and UV => Unavoidable.

Now what i need is when i select a value from that f4 help e.g. i selected downtime code 1, now the moment i select this downtime code ,, the next column in the table control is sup_text, i want this field to be automatically populated with the text defined for downtime code .

to make it simple .. take any standard tcode, suppose we enter material number and after entering we press enter button, the mat desc. automatically gets filled, this is what exactly i need.

here my fields are downtime and sup text.

plz help.

if u didn't got me , i will try again to make it more clear.
