material long description text object and text id

Hi,

i need to display material long description Using FM 'READ_TEXT' .How can i know text object and id for long descritption. I checked in MM02 in basic data text tab i could not find anything. Please help me.

Do you mean Purchase Order Text by long text??

hi,

u can find the material long description in the text tab of item. u can find the tdid, tdname and tdobject if u click on menu bar goto->header.

To find text id,

Text ID of text to be read:

The text ID defines a further subdivision of the texts for a text object. Valid values for the text ID are defined in table TTXID.

To find object of text id,

Object of text to be read:

The text object is part of the text key and assigns the text module to a specific application object. Valid text objects are defined in table TTXOB.

Hi suresh,

Go to your requirement T.Code ( for example : vf03,vf02,,,).

There is a tab like ' Head.Text' or 'Item .Text'.

Click that Tab after that click 'DISPLAY LOG' logo. There you will find Object and ID for corresponding Text.

iam using MM02 transaction.in that i selected basic data view.

in the basic data view click on basic data text(last tab).

i entered some long text.how can i know the text object and text id for that long text.

For material you can see material long text, Sales text etc..
