SAP GUI Scripting: Script Is Running.....Help!

Hello all,

I'm new to the forums and have an SAP question problem. I'm an end user of SAP and have been using it since 2002. A couple of weeks ago when I logged into SAP I noticed a red/white icon in the lower right corner of my screen. When I hover over it it says "SAP GUI Scripting: Script Is Running". The problem is, I have never created a script. When I start working in SAP I have noticed a lot of the screens have a different format now and I get a lot of ABAP errors.

After doing some research I found under "Customize Local Layout", "Options" I can uncheck the box "Enable Scripting". I click "Apply" and "OK". Now the red/white icon goes away in the lower right corner and all my screens go back to normal with no ABAP errors.

The problem now is that every minute or two I get a pop up window that says "Scripting support is disabled by the user".

Has anyone else had this problem?

1. I've never created a script. Why is one running now?

2. Is there a way to stop the pop up message "Scripting support is disabled...." if I uncheck "Enable Scripting"?

Looks like an Application which is running in Backgorund (VBA / Office) anything like it

How do you Login the System ?

DesktopLink or usual SAP-Logon?

I don't think I have anything running in the background. No VBA that I know of. I do have MS Office installed and use Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

I log in to SAP by double clicking the desktop icon that was created when it was installed. Like I said, the strange thing is nothing changed from the time it was working until this mysterious script started running. I also forgot to mention my IT guys completely uninstalled SAP from my computer and reinstalled it. That didn't help. I work for a large corporation and our SAP guru's remote logged into my computer and I went over everything with them and after about an hour he gave up also. It's very frustrating trying to work like this.

There Must be a task what is running a Script otherwise the System wouldn't indicate that there a Script is running.

Try the following:

There should be the following Options beneath the Option "Enable Scripting"

"Alert me if a Script trys to run on my System" (or anything like it -- dont know the exact)

is it checked ? if not click it and find out when the Script is started

Should give a Hint about it on what Action it starts

Yes I have that checked. As soon as I double click on the SAP icon the logon window appears and it instantly displays the message "A script is trying to attach to the GUI" It's like it starts at the logon screen. Here's a pic right after I double click the desktop icon....

At this point if I click cancel I can log on to SAP and everything works fine. Only problem is that I keep getting the "A script is trying to attach to the GUI" popup box every 10 seconds or so. If I keep clicking Cancel it keep reappearing with SAP working fine. If I click OK then the script starts running and my SAP changes to the messed up screens and ABAP errors. Its like the script sits there and keeps trying to attach itself every few seconds.

Is there a way in SAP to see what scripts are running? I've looked everywhere and can't find it.

Hi,

That is crazy....

If it is possible for you could you show the properties of the Connection?

There has to be the startup ta which is loading the script...

Further could you post the proprties of the desktop link?

I agree, I'm stumped. I even tried looking through the SAP entries in my registry to see if I could find anything. It's a bit confusing but I didn't see anything out of place.

hmmmm-

the only thing that looks different to me is the Target in the Shortcut Tab ...

all other things look fine

Usualy if a Script runs I cant access SAP the usual way except i break the script with a msgbox or anything

another question

is GUIxT on your system activated ?

I just checked and no GUIxT was not activated. I activated it, logged off, and then logged back in. When I did this popped up....

Ok if it was not checked (activated) ...

Just deactivate it an logon again

So far i'm through with my latinum .-

Perhaps the other Experts know more about it ???

Woohoo!!!! I figured it out and fixed it!

There was a program called passlogix installed on my computer. It had an app trying to auto log in to SAP for me. I noticed V-GO SSO running in my task manager processes. I stopped the process and the SAP script stopped. So I did a little research on the app and all it does is automatically log you in to software you use frequently. I uninstalled the entire program and everything is perfect now.
