Hello,

the SID or with other words the SAP System Identifier (sapsid) is a unique identification of a SAP System Instance. Within a SAP Customer Landscape it is essential to have each SAP instance distinguishably and addressable uniquely, especially if a customer has 50 or 60 Systems running. Along with the SID there is a System Nr. which should be also uniquely defined to this SID (e.g. SID = MBS and SystemNr. = 00 and/or SID = TST and SystemNr. = 01). The System Number reflects a range of reserved tcp-ports in the services of an operating system (look at C:windowssystem32driversetcservices) to access the SAP System. Hi,

SID is SAP System Identifyer. Is a three(3) letter and there is an SAP strandards u need to follow that it should be either (CCC/CCN/CNCCNN) C=Char N=Numbers

system.

Caution

Choose your SAP system ID carefully. You cannot change

the SAP system ID after the installation.

Make sure that your SAP system ID:

1.) Is unique throughout your organization

2.) Consists of exactly three alphanumeric characters

3.) Contains only uppercase letters

4.) Has a letter for the first character

5.) Does not include any of the following, which are reserved
